Biography

Christine comes from hometown Auckland, New Zealand and is a Director and Co-founder of The Needle. She moved to Leeds in the UK in 2005 but now resides in the Isle of Man, home of the Manx cat and the famous TT road race, and has done since 2012. But she still calls New Zealand home, where she started out a sales and marketing career in the golf and sports industries.

The UK gave her the opportunity to quickly build a career in senior interim and permanent recruitment, working for some of the larger recruitment giants such as Hays and then subsequently Badenoch & Clark (who were acquired by Adecco). Most importantly, she has a solid understanding of how many recruitment processes work and where the opportunities lie to improve them.  “People often ask me how I went from recruitment to software development. The answer is… I love technology! I am a bit of a geek at heart but I also love connecting people – putting the right combinations of people together.

Video is the best way to introduce companies and individuals to each other as it humanises the process. Creating this company gave me the opportunity to inject some quality and consistency into the recruitment process. It was a no brainer really.”

I’m an ex agency recruiter and technology fanatic; two things that went very well together for launching The Needle. The Needle provides an asynchronous video interview platform that adds value to the recruitment process, dramatically improves short listing and encourages collaboration between recruiters and managers to find the right people for their business.

Specialities include: video interviewing, HR tech, recruitment process, agency recruitment
